On February 9, The Directorate General of Foreign Trade or DGFT under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry released order on drone which will be immediate effect.
List of drone that will be banned: (HS Code: 8806)
Completely Built Up (CBU)
Completely Knocked Down (CKD)
Semi Knocked Down (SKD)
Import of drones will be allowed:
Government entities
Educational institutions recognized by Central or State governments
R&D entities that recognized from DGFT
Drone manufacturers
For the purpose on R&D, as well as for defense and security purposes, provided an import authorization is obtained from the Directorate General of Foreign Trade.
